Wyant Group Donates to Breast Cancer Research

Okanagan Wyant Group Dealerships Make Donation

The Wyant Group’s Okanagan automotive dealerships raised funds throughout October collectively to donate to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Porsche Centre Kelowna, Jaguar Kelowna, Land Rover Kelowna, Kelowna Volvo, Audi Kelowna and Vernon Hyundai all donated a portion of every vehicle sale and select services to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in support of breast cancer research.

Second Annual Breast Cancer Donation

This marks the second year that the Okanagan arm of the Wyant Group has banded together to raise funds for the cause. Representatives from the Wyant Group presented Steve Francis, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Community Ambassador, with a cheque for their donation of $8,000.

The Impact of Breast Cancer in Canada

According to the latest research from the Canadian Cancer Society, breast cancer will affect 1 in 8 Canadian women during their lifetime.

The Canadian Cancer Society also estimates that 26,300 women and 230 men in Canada will be diagnosed with breast cancer and almost 5000 women and 43 men will die from the disease in 2017. In B.C., breast cancer is the most common type of cancer. In 2012 alone, 3,198 women and 32 men were diagnosed with breast cancer.
